Uri Nir’s works can be described as schematic organizations of space, through which a non-given concept of space is stabilized. The conceptual dimension of his art is conceived by gestural organization and manipulation of space. The gestural is not only a matter of creation or engagement with space, but also the very landscape of navigating his artwork: everything from conceptualization, to speculation, composition, is meticulously gestural. It requires the spectator to follow the work as a navigation-space, disengaging from one gesture to the next.
